What was the highlight of Diamonds Mapenzi Beach
The facility is good, but I wish what happened to us should never happen to any other guest.
The main restaurant served breakfast well with great staff, was very supportive and catered to my family's needs in arranging breakfast for room delivery.
The staff in the reception disappointed us greatly with a major blunder in an important event (anniversary) that we requested to be prepared by simply ignoring our request due to negligence despite confirming to us that all would be arranged only to find nothing ready in the last minute. That was a major disappointment and a total failure.

What was the highlight of Diamonds Mapenzi Beach
We enjoyed our time but certain things need improvement to justify the price.
We enjoyed our time at the Diamonds Mapenzi Beach Hotel, especially due to the beautiful location of our bungalow with a sea view, as well as the very friendly staff, who offered us coconuts and was always eager to help. The breakfast every morning was great and included a wide variety of options. Coffee was amazing. The bungalow offered a lot of space and we had some privacy on our porch and just in front of the bungalow. WiFi was very good.
We booked relatively last minute and might therefore have overpaid- unfortunately we therefore had higher expectations of the overall room, service as well as location, that were not met. Some of the fixtures of the room were outdated, water pressure was bad, and due to heavy rain we had one night a massive amount of flies and ants getting into the room despite closed windows. Electricity cuts were frequent. While we loved the friendliness of the staff, responsiveness was at times very delayed, specificity when we need someone urgently to come by and assist with the ant invasion (we waited 1.5 hours). We did not book all inclusive and therefore frequented the beach side restaurant almost every night, also due to a lack of alternatives nearby. Unfortunately the food selection was always very limited, and we often had to wait close to an hour for our food (both at lunch and dinner time). The staff was incredibly apologetic which we appreciated; but it would have been nice to have higher quality food and service in that restaurant. It is also worth mentioning that, while beautifully located with amazing views of the beach, the bungalows are not directly on the beach, which is slightly below the level the bungalows are located.

What was the highlight of Diamonds Mapenzi Beach
Good Experience
I liked that the beach was accessible and there is a large swimming pool. The breakfast included in the booking was buffet style and had a lot of variety. There were also activities such as aqua gym etc. The hotel also has turn down service which was great. The restaurant and chef at the beach restaurant were great.
We paid for a superior room but the room we got was quite basic. At first I thought there might have been a mistake but the hotel insisted that that was the room. Also at first service by the pool was not great e.g. had to wait a while for drinks. However, this was corrected and the hotel made up for it. The beds only had linen and we had to ask for a blanket or bedspread etc. The hotel did not get back to us with requested information before we travelled. If they had, we may have changed to an all inclusive package.
